Early Years Education focused Inspection (EYEI)

In May of this year an Inspector from the Department of Education and Skills carried out a detailed ‘Early-Years Education-focused Inspection (EYEI) at our pre-school. This is a new initiative being carried out by the Department and focuses on the processes and practices relating to children’s learning and development.  This month the findings of the inspection were published for public viewing.  We are quite proud of the findings in relation to our pre-school and delighted to see our efforts in providing a quality service being acknowledged in this way.  Thank you Lorraine, Frankie and Clare for your hard work and dedication.

The report can be viewed at: http://www.education.ie/en/Publications/Inspection-Reports-Publications/Early-Years-Education-Reports/.  Further information on the inspection process can be found on http://www.education.ie/en/Publications/Inspection-Reports-Publications/Evaluation-Reports-Guidelines/A-Guide-to-Early-years-Education-focused-Inspection-EYEI-in-Early-years-Settings-Participating-ECCE-Programme.pdf .

October Highlights 2016

Cheerios Breakfast Morning:

Congrats to the girls and boys and mams and dads for helping us raise a whopping €700 in aid of Childline.  Well done and thank you.

Cheerios Necklaces:

We had fun making cheerios necklaces afterwards – yummy yummy.

Halloween Fruit Party:

We tried lots of familiar and new fruits at our Halloween dress up party.  We scared our teachers with our costumes and got treat bags from Winnie Witch.

Trick or Treat for Mams and Dads:

The mams and dads came to hear us sing our trick or treat songs.  Happy Halloween

December Highlights

Santa Visit: A big thank you to Santa for dropping in to see the girls and boys just before Christmas.

T.Y. Student:   It was a pleasure to have Kate join us in December for her Transition Year work experience.  It was particularly nice because Kate was one of our pioneer students in our first class back in 2002.

Christmas Play:    Well done to the girls and boys from both classes on a fantastic performance of the Nativity Play and carol singing.  Thank you to the mams, dads and grandparents for taking the time out to come along on the day.

Congratulations to Alannah and her mam and dad on the safe arrival of Alannah’s new baby sister.  What a lucky girl to have Alannah as a big sister.

November Highlights

Walt & Jessie:  Walt and Jessie enjoyed their first few sleepovers with the girls and boys.  The children enjoy sharing Walt and Jessie’s stories on return to school on Monday.  A big thanks to parents for hosting our special bears and helping update Walt and Jessie’s memory books.

Sarah on T.Y. Visit:   It was lovely having Sarah work with us for her two weeks Transition Year work experience.  The children enjoyed listening to Sarah play the violin but particularly enjoyed getting their turn to play too.
